Getting Started
Hi! Welcome to the Lady-Comp family!
We’re glad you’re here. Tracking your fertility with Lady-Comp is going to be easy, but like with every new beginning, there’s a few things to know before you get started. Please remember it’s natural to feel a little unsure of things at first, but soon you and Lady-Comp will come to know each other closely, and you’ll love the newfound knowledge of your cycle and fertility!
Before you begin:
- If you’re on hormonal birth control, you must stop before using Lady-Comp. You can start temping the day after you’ve quit. Remember – the first bleeding after stopping HBC is a hormonal withdrawal bleeding, not a true period, so please do not enter it into your Daysy as a menstruation.
- If you’re currently menstruating, and it’s not the first day of your period, please do not enter menstruation for this cycle. Menstruation always needs to be entered starting on the first day of active bleeding and flow. You don’t want Lady-Comp thinking the third or fourth day of your period is actually the first.
- If you’re sick with a fever, hungover, or didn’t sleep well last night, please do not temp, and take good care of yourself! You can temp again when these issues have passed.
- It’s exciting to get Lady-Comp and you want to start now, but first sleep - however, it is important to set the alarm before the very first measurement. Be sure to use Lady-Comp daily right after you wake up, before you get up and get active. For optimal use of Lady-Comp, we recommend that you have at least 1 hour of continuous sleep before measurement.
The button functions
Step 1 - Activate your Lady-Comp
- Remove the strap marked from the device.
- Set the wake-up time (once) for the next morning.
Navigate to the alarm, open the input window by pressing the circle button and set the alarm time using the plus and minus button. Confirm the entry for each field by pressing the circle button. The alarm is activated when you have set a check mark in the last field and confirmed it with the circle button. - You can now use Lady-Comp – but a measurement is only possible on the following day. After the first successful measurement, you can also measure without the alarm.
Step 2 - Measuring your temperature
Lady-Comp needs to learn your cycle. Take your basal body temperature every morning after waking up and before you get out of bed. For optimal use of Lady-Comp, we recommend that you have at least 1 hour of continuous sleep before measurement.
- Place the measuring sensor as far back as comfortable to the left or right under your tongue and close your mouth.
- Press the circle button to activate the device. Then, start the measurement by pressing one of the 3 buttons.
- You will hear a beep at the end of the successful measurement, and the measured temperature as well as the fertility status, which is is valid until midnight, are displayed.
Step 3 - Entering your menstruation
In addition to your temperature data, Lady-Comp needs your menstruation data in order to calculate your cycle. If you see a question mark in the input field for menstruation after measuring, it means that Lady-Comp is asking you for your menstruation input.
- If you are menstruating: Press and hold the circle button for 3 seconds to open the input field and enter your menstruation by pressing the plus button. Confirm the entry by pressing the circle button. Enter your menstruation for each day of active bleeding and flow for a minimum of 3 consecutive days.
- If you are not menstruating: You do not have to do anything.
- If you are menstruating, but you do not see a question mark: Press and hold the circle button for 3 seconds. Enter your menstruation with the plus button and confirm the entry by pressing the circle button twice.
Step 4 - The fertility window
After entering the first menstruation, Lady-Comp shows you the fertility status for the current day with the color of the home screen. In the fertility window you can see the details of the last measurement.
From the display color you can immediately see whether you are fertile or not.
